The Ikon Allah Boys faced a tough game against the top six hopefuls, with the Savannah Scorpions having already claimed several big name scalps so far this season.

But the hosts were up to the challenge, and finally got a win through an early goal from Idris Munir.

They were also happy to get a clean sheet despite having to play with ten men after Lukman Mohammed was adjudged to have elbowed his opponent.

Jonas spoke with Lodgexpress official website after the game and said:

“After any defeat, the next game is always more tougher on an emotional level. I think we showed quality in the first half which resulted in our early goal. We had total control against a team that is very organized defensively.

“We had more chances after scoring the first goal, had all the transitions going perfectly well and the game was in hand until we got reduced to ten men which now changed the tempo of the game completely.

“After the red, we didn’t have full control of the game, but still played as a team. In the most difficult moment of the match, we remained united, ensured we closed all the spaces and pushed the ball out into the less dangerous areas.

“It was a tough game, and a good one altogether.”
