Nasarawa United midfielder Tochukwu Micheal has spoken about the reasons for his excellent form during the just concluded season.
The midfielder was one of the key members of the Solid Miners under Nikyu Bala this season.
Tochukwu was the only player in the Nigeria Professional Football League to score back-to-back goals against two different teams, Rivers United and Dakkada Football Club.
He credits his fitness and diet habits with improving his physique and giving himself the necessary stamina to succeed in the NPFL.
Speaking about his form with Lodgexpress.com, Tochukwu who scored 11 goals, provided six assists and further won the MOTM awards 8 times, said: “I felt strong and fit – that side of my game came along and I felt it while on the pitch.
“I spent extra hours in the gym after each training session and I disciplined myself with what I eat.
“This made me grow strong and also fit enough to match with the physicality of the NPFL. I am happy with everything and how things are going for me.
“Scoring was an area of my game I needed to improve before the start of the season and I’m glad I had the best coaches on ground to see me through the process.
“I knew I could get as many goals when I direct my shots on target, it is a case of finding opportunities in games to score.
“I managed to get 11 and provided 6, so I’ll look back at how I did that and try to recreate it in more games in the future.”
