Victor Collins admits Nasarawa United’s problems this season are difficult to explain.
Collins was reacting during an interview with Lodgexpress official website following Sunday’s home draw with Bendel Insurance.
With the team already confirming their status in the second division next season, the center-back said, “The current situation does not reflect the real quality of what the team is.
“Sadly football is like that sometimes, unpredictable, you don’t know where things are going to turn out. We played good football but goalscoring luck wasn’t just on our side and at the end we were relegated which is very tough to take right now.
“But yes, [relegation] it is an unpleasant situation and it generates some anxiety because of what Nasarawa United represents for the Nigeria topflight division and the number of fans it attracts nationwide. I have been able to receive the closeness of the fans from different parts of the country and various parts of the world at large. It is a complicated situation for everyone and we hope to be able to return back here soon.”
