Micah Ojodomo was delighted with a winning Bendel Insurance debut in victory over Akwa United in the Nigeria Premier Football League opener in Uyo on Sunday.
The new signing was a key figure in the Benin Arsenal’s left wing as the visitors produced an opening period of domination over their illustrious opponents before going on to net a quick fire double just before half-time courtesy of Imade Osarenkhoe and Ismail Seriki goals.
“It was fantastic for my official NPFL debut for Bendel Insurance,” he told Lodgxpress.com. “I think the team showed class and a very good character out there on Sunday.
“It was a very good outing for the supporters too, they were behind us and it was really important to win this game against a big team away from home.
“Everyone played their part towards the victory – we’re all very happy and now we have to look forward to the next game against Plateau United.
“You can see that we’ve not played in the topflight division for a long time and we have great and determined players come in. We need to keep working together and when we’ve had a couple of games and get to know each other well I think everyone will see a very good side.
“It’s a thing of pride for me to be in this team. We have to keep pushing the way we played against Akwa United, because we showed what we can achieve this season.”
