FC Ifeanyi Ubah youngster, Stephen Danjuma is gearing to make his Nigeria Professional Football League debut on Sunday, July 18, when his side pay a visit to Plateau United in Matchday 33.
Danjuma signed for the Anambra Warriors during the mid-season transfer window after impressing during his tryout from Horvel Prime Academy, Abuja.
Who is Stephen Danjuma and what is he known for?
Danjuma is known for his versality and composure, long range vision and accuracy in passes as a footballer, which gives him the ability to be fielded in any midfield position with his most preferred role being a defensive midfielder.
Following his football intelligence, work-rate, technique, ability to break down possession, vision, and passing accuracy, he is usually used as a deep lying midfielder in a three-man midfield in a 4–3–3 setup.
With Danjuma not being your usual bulky player in view of his physique, he is also capable of playing both in a box-to-box role or in a defensive role as a ball winner, thanks to his tactical brilliance, awareness, positional sense, and general ability to read the game, which gives him room to cover wide areas on the pitch, push opponents up further the pitch, make interceptions, and start attacking plays after winning back the ball thanks to his long range vision.
Nevertheless, he usually plays more in a more withdrawn creative position, as a deep-lying lynchpin while sitting in front of the back-line, a role which allows him more time on the ball to control the tempo of his team’s play with his precise, short, horizontal passing game on the round the pitch.
