It was another eventful week in the Nigeria Professional Football League, with series of controversial decisions and a fiery Northern derby.
Rivers United were confirmed as NPFL champions and Plateau United need one more win to secure their champions league spot next season. Gombe United once again showed Wikki Tourists who is boss and it was a case of more frustration for both Remo Stars United, Rangers and Enyimba.

🔹Eric Oguocha: [ Plateau United ]
The Nigerian speedster was blitzing forth and back the pitch in a blistering performance in Plateau United’s 2-1 loss at Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
Oguocha with his elite speed and endurance was strong in both aspects of the game always providing support for his attackers and tracking back to help out in defence.

On what was a Saturday evening party for Akwa United, while players took the attention banging in goals for fun, however the magnificent performance from Evans can not be overlooked.
The left-back was instrumental, ruthlessly driving down the flank as he has done so impressively in the games he’s featured this season. They won 2-1
🔹Anthony Anioke: [ Sunshine Stars ]
In a big clash for Sunshine Stars against a struggling MFM FC, Anioke stood tall in the typically robust Owena Whales defence.
The center-back was defensively strong, making 2 tackles, 4 clearances and winning 4 aerial duels. It ended 2-1.
🔹Christopher Nwaeze: [ Akwa United ]
Nwaeze was rock solid in defence alongside Boluwaji Sholumade, keeping Plateau United relatively impotent in front of goal despite their possession stats except for Jesse Akila’s goal. Nwaeze in total made 5 clearances, 2 impressive blocks and won 4 aerial duels.
The game ended 2-1 in favor of Akwa United.
🔹Ahmed Jimoh: [ Gombe United ]
Again the midfield lynchpin found his name on the scoresheet as well as registering another assist to go alongside his 3 key passes and 6/6 accurate long balls.
One player brim full of confidence, Jimoh in this youthful bubbly Gombe United side is taking the League by storm.
Gombe United won 2-1.
🔹Ali Rabiu: [ Kano Pillars ]
It was a big win for Kano Pillars under enormous internal and external pressure, and these precious 3 points at home can be attributed to Ali’s efforts in the midfield.
He scored his side’s only goal from a penalty spot.
It ended 1-0.
🔹Tochukwu Micheal: [ Nasarawa United ]
In the Solid Miners’ inspired second-half win, it was Tochukwu Micheal who was the main catalyst for Nasarawa United’s three point against Rivers United.
Michael scored the Solid Miners’ winning goal and has now scored three times in his last four meetings with Rivers United. In total, Michael had 4 shots on goal and operated at 100% passing accuracy.
Nasarawa United won 2-1.
🔹Tosin Omoyele: [Katsina United]
After a slow start to Katsina United life, Omoyele exploded onto the scene with an eruptive performance against Remo Stars.
Joining the brigade of successful youngsters leading the way for their respective teams in the NPFL, Omoyele netted twice in Katsina United’s 3-2 win.
🔹Emmanuel Jonas: [ Niger Tornadoes ]
When an opponent is there for the taking, there is no-one who smells blood quite like the uncompromisingly clinical Emmanuel Jonas.
With Kwara United in a world of pain following their last away 3-0 loss at Enyimba, Jonas turned it up a level and cut through the Kwara United tears with a merciless goal and assist against his former club.
Niger Tornadoes won 4-0.
🔹Shamsudden Hashim: [ Niger Tornadoes ]
The goals never seem to cease in Niger Tornadoes team at the moment, it appears that Hashim was back to his best on the weekend. Scoring 2 absolute peach goals, Hashim highlighted his dangerous presence as the spearline of the Ikon Allah Boys attack.
