Akwa United striker Kufre Ebong was delighted with victory over Gombe United.
Ebong was proud to net Wednesday evening’s all-important goal against Gombe United in a game that saw the visitors goalkeeper Itodo Akor make a record 14 saves.

“It means a lot to me to score my first goal at home and the second of the season,” he told Lodgexpress.com. “I am happy to be in the team, playing games and scoring goals.
“I still think I can improve and if I can help teams to win games, I’d be delighted to keep doing that.
“Anything is possible. We have the team for it, we have the players for it.
“The team played very well, we were concentrated from the first minute and it was a good match. It wasn’t easy because Gombe United are a quality side.”
