Gombe United goalkeeper Itodo Akor was delighted with their clean sheet for victory over matchday 27 opponents Sunshine Stars.
The hosts won the tie 1-0 thanks to Alege Abdulqadri’s winner.
Itodo who was an unused substitute for the game told Lodgexpress official website during an interview session:
“It was a tough one but at the end we got the goal.
“One of our objectives is always to maintain a clean sheet both at home and away, our defending has really improved and it’s something we can be proud of.
“We managed to score and also fought hard to keep it safe which also ended in us recording a clean sheet which we all know means a lot. The lads deserve all the credit with the way they handled their respective businesses out there. We wanted to score more, to be very honest but all that matters is that it’s all over and we secured the three points.”
