Ifeanyi Emmanuel delighted to score in Plateau Utd come-from-behind victory against Enyimba

Ifeanyi Emmanuel hailed Plateau United’s character for the way they came from behind to defeat Enyimba on Sunday.

The center-back netted the equaliser for Plateau United before super-sub Kazim Ogunleye struck home a late winner.

It’s been an eventful few weeks for the new signing defender, who in the space of three games has found himself leading the club’s goalscoring charts with three goals.

Ifeanyi was solid as always in the Peace Boys’ backline alongside Chris Nwaeze in keeping Enyimba attackers to limited shots on target. Ifeanyi won 4 aerial duels, made 6 clearances and was alert enough to head home a long throw from Daniel Itodo to levei the scoreline for his team.

He told Lodgexpress.com after the game: “For us to respond and score immediately after being trailed in the first half was important. We’re happy and it gives us confidence for the upcoming games.

“We made the correction immediately we came into the second half and dominated possession and that was key. Enyimba have a clear vision of the game, with very good players but I still think we were the better side and deserved victory we got.”
