Akwa United winger Ubong Friday has set his sights on winning the NPFL title for the Promise Keepers with the Nest of Champions club taking the League by storm.
The skipper who scored in his side’s 3-0 thumping of Warri Wolves has said he is ready to gift Akwa United their first ever NPFL silverware in 25 years.
Speaking during an interview with Lodgexpress sports correspondent, Faith Onwukwe, Friday said:
“I’m ready to win titles with Akwa United. It’s what I said to myself when I returned from Armenia to rejoin my boyhood club, I came here to win something for the club, for us, for the fans.
“I love to win titles here. Everyone in the team is working hard every day to ensure our dream season comes true. We’re very close to actualizing this dream and I’m rest assured we are going to win it this year.”
Friday, who rejoined in the summer of 2019 from Armenia outfit, FC Lori, has so far formed a dangerous attacking partnership with Charles Atsimene and Mfon Udoh at Akwa United.
