Gombe United attacking midfielder Ahmed Jimoh was happy to score and provide an assist in victory over Wikki Tourists on Sunday.
Gombe United returned to winning ways by beating Wikki Tourists 2-1 after sharing points in midweek at Plateau United.

Jimoh with his electrifying moves continues to shine bright within this pulsating Aliyu Zubairu’s Gombe United that made their way up to 9th position on the weekend.
Providing much of the attacking impetus on the clear afternoon, Jimoh was key to the Gombe United’s win, with 4 shots on goal, 3 key passes, one assist and a magnificent header to tie up the 3 points.
“We shared points in our last game against a quality opponent like Plateau United. This was therefore an important derby game for us and I think we gave the right response,” said Jimoh during an interview with Lodgexpress official website.
“Every player’s mentality during a game is to always go out there for the win and we did our duty, we won, the rest doesn’t matter.”
Jimoh added: “I’m glad that I was able to help my team by assisting a goal and scoring the winner but the most important thing was that we got the three points.
“I get closer to the goal when playing as a second striker, but I am also happy to provide assists for my teammates. It doesn’t matter where I play, I just want to help.”
