FC Ifeanyi Ubah right-back, Eric Oguocha has disclosed that he and his teammates are looking forward to their matchday 35 showdown with Rivers United.
Both teams take on each other at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port-harcourt on Sunday, July 24, needing the maximum points for various reasons with the host team needing it to keep their hopes of continental games qualification alive and the visitors needing it to bolster their hopes of surviving relegation this term
Oguocha, who has enjoyed first team football since the start of the second quarter of the season, hopes that the two sides can put on a exciting encounter for the spectators.
“When you play against a club who are fighting for the same course, you need to be playing your best. It has been a fantastic and as well as a luckless season for us,” he told Lodgexpress sport’s correspondent, Faith Onwukwe during his presser.
“It will be great for the fans if we get the win and above all survive relegation which we’re certainly looking forward to it. They’re a massive club, we respect them but has zero fears for them. It promises to be filled with lots of excitements and talking points and let’s see who will come out the better side.
Rivers United held FC Ifeanyi Ubah to a barren draw in their first meeting in Nnewi and will now settle the tie tomorrow Sunday by 4pm. They currently occupy the 5th position on the log with 56 points from 34 games while their visitors are placed 18th on the log with 35 points from same number of games.
