Enyimba attacker Eze Ekwutoziam has warned a successful title defence will be no cake walk.
The versatile player helped Enyimba to their 9th top flight title last season and is well aware that the club could face difficulties in trying to defend that triumph in such a cut-throat competition.
“It will be difficult defending because every team will come down and look to beat us,” he told Lodgexpress official website after their 0-0 draw at Niger Tornadoes on Wednesday.
“But when you’re champion you need to behave like a champion and take it game by game.
“The confidence is here, everyone now just wants to win and when you win once you want to win every time and Enyimba now wants to win every season.
“We know how to win and now we have to work hard and give 100 per cent every game, the NPFL is one of the hardest in Africa and five or six clubs could be champion and for us we will just focus on us and do our best.”
