Enugu Rangers fullback Chidera Eze was overjoyed with his free-kick against Enugu State FA Cup final opponents, Ingas Football Club on Wednesday afternoon.
The NPFL powerhouse saw off the third division club in a thumping 5-1 defeat with full-back Eze curling home a sublime free-kick in the 7th minute, which he says was a product of efforts on the training pitch.
Speaking to Lodgexpress Sports following the game, Eze said: “After training I stay back and practise a lot and try to score some free-kicks. Today I just thought we had this moment, and I just tried it.”
When quizzed if it was among his best free-kicks he had ever scored, the high-flying defender added: “Yes, I think in my professional career I’ve scored a couple of free-kicks, but that was one of my best shots, so I’ll rate it as one of the best.”
