Ekerette Udom has opened up on why he couldn’t celebrate against former club Dakkada in their matchday 8 game because of how the club transformed his career.
The towering defender who captained his side against his ex employers was a major influence for Sunshine Stars in their narrow 2-1 loss at the Nest of Champions.

Udom scored the equalizer with a fine header in the 75th minute which was his second consecutive goal for the Akure club this season after scoring a similar goal against Niger Tornadoes in matchday 7.
He told Lodgexpress official website post-game: “I couldn’t just celebrate scoring against Dakkada. The club changed my life, they gave me the opportunity to play in the NPFL.
“Instinctively I was going to celebrate it, but [Dakkada] is the team that played a big role in my career, and I couldn’t just do it, but I am a little disappointed we lost all the points.”
