Enyimba star Austine Oladapo has said that the club has not yet conceded defeat in their title chase this season.
The People’s Elephants are placed fifth on the league with sixth points separating them from leaders and six games left to play.
Enyimba so far this season are miles away from their usual best and the loss against Akwa United in matchday 32 followed by a draw against Jigawa Golden Stars at home in matchday 33 has left their hopes of qualifying for continental games hanging and their hopes of clinching the title in doubt.
“We are still very much in the race. There are 18 points to fight and we are just six behind Akwa United.” He told Brila.
“We have seen so many examples of teams that have hung in there, kept working and got their rewards as well.
“We have to keep doing our jobs and not listen to what people are saying outside.
“Something might happen in the next few weeks and we have to there to take advantage. We just have to think about our own performances and that’s the only thing we can control. We have got loads to play for, and as a team we’ve got loads to improve on.
“To build momentum by going on the pitch and playing well is important. We have had a couple of setbacks at home, before the disappointment in Uyo. We have to recover mentally and physically. It’s not easy thing to do, but we have to to do it”.
