Nigerian attacker Benard Ovoke has made his first Rivers United appearance since joining the club during the mid season transfer window.
Ovoke came on as a second half substitute in River United’s 1-1 draw with Akwa United on Saturday.
The 24-year-old arrived from Armenia outfit, Sevan FC and has been handed the no.9 jersey. He came on for Chidi Akuneto in the 85th minutes amidst ovation.
They will now return to Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium to prepare for matchday 21 game against Lobi Stars this weekend.
He told Lodgexpress; “Making my second debut with Rivers United is a very great pleasure, I’m pleased to be back with the team. The draw result at the end is a very good feeling, it is important to continue adding.
“All we want to do is to play to win all of our games, they (Akwa United) are also a great team. We expected a tough contest, it was important we scored first and then have them fight for the equalizer.”
