Bayelsa United defender Ebedibiri hails character for Niger Tornadoes draw

Bayelsa United center-back Ebedibiri Endurance felt they showed great character for their 1-1 draw with Niger Tornadoes.

Robert Mizo struck minutes some before half-time to earn a point for the visitors on Wednesday.

Ebedibiri bravely guided a Bayelsa Utd defence which did everything they could to deny Niger Tornadoes at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium. Was a rock alongside Gabriel Biriduba and in front of Osagie Onisodumeya as Bayelsa United kept quiet a Niger Tornadoes attack which had just scored once at home in their last three outings.

And Ebedibiri told the Lodgexpress official website: “It was a huge point to start with. We didn’t want to come here and lose all the points. We want to keep working towards remaining in the league for as long as we can.

“Niger Tornadoes is always a tough place to come and it was a very even game.

“The goal we conceded in the first half was unlucky, but we showed great character again and came back into the game.

“We want to take a lead in the game and hold on to it. Hopefully, in the next home game, we can do that. We showed real spirit and it was a great point in the end.”
