MFM FC center-back, Adebayo Alimi was delighted with their 1-0 victory over relegation rivals, Heartland Football Club on Sunday.
Alimi produced a dominant performance against Heartland as his side recorded their first victory in the second round of the season thanks to a Micah Ojodomo 33rd minutes winner.
Alimi stood large on the afternoon making 5 interceptions, 4 clean tackles and a couple of crucial blocks.
And a deeply delighted Alimi who spoke with Lodgexpress after the game, said;
“What happened during the first round of the season doesn’t matter any more.
“It’s now in the past. We now have to concentrate on playing our own game and our own football, as we did our there.
“This was a tough game but, in the end, we could have scored more than we did. We have a big squad with good players throughout and, this shows we can go to any ground and win.”
MFM FC are now leveled on points with Heartland and have leapfrogged them into 19th position on the log with just two points separating them from safety.
A win away from home this weekend would see the Olukoya Boys get off the relegation zone for the first time since the start of this season. They play Remo Stars in Ikenne this weekend.
