Akwa United striker Kufre Ebong is determined to play his way into Fatai Osho’s plans.

Ebong was handed his first start since arriving from Dakkada during the summer transfer window and he netted his first official club goal during their 3-2 loss at Enyimba last Sunday.

“I am working really hard to earn more playing time. Once I play people will see what I am capable of. I am sure I will succeed with Akwa United. I don’t have a single doubt,” he told Lodgexpress official website post-game.

“I have the mindset to play football here. If I have to defend and run, I will. That is totally fine.

“I will work harder to earn more minutes on the pitch and to prove to everyone that I am a good forward that can score a lot of goals and play pretty football.

“Osho is a great coach and he has faith in me. He has told me that I need to run more. All the talking I do is right there on the pitch.

“What I like most about him is that he is daring. He is one of the best coaches I have worked with.

“It’s the dream of every kid growing up in the streets of Uyo to play for Akwa United and at the Nest of Champions, so my signing day was very special.

“I feel much more integrated after my goal against Enyimba. I love Akwa United, but my favorite spot is the pitch.”
