Akwa United young versatile center-back Wisdom Ndon is delighted the team was able to get its third consecutive clean sheet of the season on Wednesday against Gombe United.
While the Promise Keepers have been working on their defensive organisation since new manager Fatai Osho’s appointment, it marks the fourth time they have shut out the opposition in the league this season.

Akwa United are now in 16th position in the table, with 6 points from their opening six games of the season, and only four points off the top four.
And Ndon acknowledged it was hard work getting the three points against Gombe United.
“We knew it would be [hard]. Gombe United have had a good start to the season and they’ve got pace on the counter-attack and strength, so we had to be careful when we’re attacking because they are a threat,” he said to the Lodgexpress official website.
“But we managed to deal with it and got our third consecutive clean sheet and fourth of the season which is big.”
