Akwa United center-back, Wisdom Ndon, has appealed to the fans for patience following their goalless draw against newly promoted side Sporting Lagos on NPFL matchday two.
The game, played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, was a crucial one for Akwa United, who were eager to secure their first win of the season at home.

Unfortunately, the anticipated victory eluded Akwa United as they were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by a resilient Sporting Lagos side. The disappointment came on the heels of their opening game defeat, a 5-3 loss to Bayelsa United away from home.
In light of the challenging start to the season, Wisdom Ndon spoke with Lodgexpress official website after the game and offered words of reassurance to their fans. He stated;
“I personally understand the frustration of our supporters, and we share their desire for a win. It’s disappointing not to secure the victory we aimed for against Sporting Lagos, but I want to assure everyone that we are working hard to turn things around.”
Ndon acknowledged the resilience of Sporting Lagos, describing them as a formidable opponent. He added, “Sporting Lagos proved to be a tough nut to crack, but we had our chances, and we’ll keep working on converting them into goals.”
“It’s a long season, and we believe that a win will come soon. We need the fans support more than ever, and we promise to keep giving our best on the pitch. Stay patient, and better days are ahead for Akwa United.
“We have picked up some kind of momentum. Obviously, it was a difficult game. We did really well. We fought. We respected the gameplan. The gameplan worked very well – what was missing was just a goal.”
