Center-back, Adebayo Alimi hailed MFM FC’s spirit after victory over matchday 34 opponents Enyimba on Sunday.
David Nduka popped up and fired home to settle the game 2-1 after Enyimba had gotten the lead through Victor Mbaoma and MFM getting the equalizer through a Dayo Alabi penalty.
Alimi during his post-game interview with Lodgexpress official website, said: “We’ve played a couple of games where we needed to mount a comeback, it’s never easy and we have to give credit to the team. This team doesn’t give up the fight.
“We were tough enough to turn the result around to our favor.” On Dayo Alabi and David Nduka, who scored the goals, Alimi added: “They are two players who make the difference.”
He also lauded Micah Ojodomo, who won the penalty for Alabi’s equalizer.
“Micah Ojodomo was really good, we’re used to the fight he gives and he was key in the team’s comeback.”
MFM FC are still rocking the bottom of the table and will continue their quest to escape relegation this season when they travel to Akure to take on Sunshine Stars this weekend.
