Abia Warriors star Nweke Kalu: We must win remaining fixtures

Abia Warriors playmaker Nweke Kalu says they need a 100 per cent record from their remaining four games of the season.

Abia Warriors narrowly escaped a draw over the weekend after defeating Kano Pillars by 3-2 and will now hit the road this weekend to take on Shooting Stars in Ibadan.

Shooting Stars are 12th on the table with just one point separating them from 13th placed Abia Warriors.

“Obviously it’s a clash that’s really vital for us,” Nweke told Lodgexpress.com. “We’ve gotten to the stage now where we have to win these games, it’s a must-win game. We had Kano Pillars on Sunday and Shooting Stars is going to be a tough physical game too, and it’s a game we have to give everything to secure a win.

“We are aware how difficult it’s going to be. We’ve got four games remaining and we need to win all those games if we want to be confident of remaining in the League next season. We know it’s going to be a great battle, a really tough contest. One of our remaining four games is at Godswill Akpabio Stadium against Akwa United, so it’s going to be tough.

“This is what we’ve been working for all campaign. We had the objective of being in top 3 and secure Champions League spot. We now know we have another objective, which is beating the drop zone, so we now have to grab as many points as possible in the remaining games.
