Abia Warriors captain Nweke Kalu admits he loved the experience of beating Rangers in front of a full home stadium.
Kalu came on in the second half and impressed as the Abia outfit defeat Rangers 2-1 on Sunday.
He later told Lodgexpress official website: “It was incredibly delicious.
“It proves how much it means to our fans. It has been a special day and it was great to be able to give it back to the fans.
“We have had a great start to the second round of the season, but fought hard with to get four points from six. So now we are really with it again because only with great character could we beat a team like Rangers.
“We still have a couple of important games to focus on. We did everything right and the way we wanted, the coach put out the team that he thought would get the result. Winning this match is extra motivation and will help us to be at our best in our next game.”
New signing Uche Moses scored a late winner after Rangers center-back John Uche had scored to cancel out Jimoh Gbadamosi’s penalty.
