If you thought Emmanuel Jonas and Abdulraheem Shola planned their reunion at Niger Tornadoes, you would be correct.
The latter has confirmed as much when he disclosed to Lodgexpress official website during a chat.
The pair developed a strong bond both on and off the field while playing together at Kwara United Dortmund. Jonas left for Heartland before the start of the 2021/22 season, but later moved to Niger Tornadoes some months after where he made instant impact by helping them survive relegation that season.
It didn’t take longer for Abdulraheem Shola to join the club after switching to Wikki Tourists before the start of the current campaign. And the ace midfielder has revealed how a discussion with Jonas played an important role in him moving to the Northern club during the mid-season transfer window.

“It’s like [being reunited with] a good friend, a brother,” said Shola.
“We played together in the past and I’m really happy to see him again.
“He called me a few times, he asked ‘will you join me or not?’ I said, ‘As soon as they come and ask for me I won’t think twice’.
“He told me all was done and of course it was a big factor in coming here.”
