Gombe United skipper, Abdulazeez Yusuf was pleased with their draw at Shooting Stars on Wednesday.
The attacker was included in the starting lineup before coming off in the second half for Sani Abbani in the 52nd minute in a contest that ended 0-0.
“It was a good job done,” Yusuf told Lodgexpress. “It was a really important point, our last away outing ended in a result we didn’t wanted and on the afternoon we could not afford another defeat. I think everyone saw a strong Gombe United, confident to play with the ball, and I’m really pleased for all the lads.”
Hailing his team-mate, Jimoh Ahmed who won the hearts of the home supporters with his dazzling display, Yusuf shrugged:
“I’m happy to see him thrive, he is a fantastic midfielder and playmaker. He links the midfield and the attack very well and he doesn’t hide in big games.
“He’s currently enjoying one of his best seasons at the club and if he keeps on this way, we will end the season very well.
