The Fajol axis of Obantoko area in Abeokuta, Ogun state witnessed tragedy on Sunday, January 8, after a yet-to-be-identified lady fell from her husband’s motorcycle while they were heading to church.
Reports according to eyewitnesses say the incident occurred while the husband was trying to avoid a head-on collision with another motorcycle coming from the opposite direction. He lost control of his bike and this led to his wife falling to her death.
The spokesperson of Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, who confirmed the incident, attributed the tragedy to reckless driving on the part of the motorcyclist, which led to the loss of control and in the process, the woman sitting at the back fell off, hit her head on the ground and was confirmed dead on the spot.
