Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom has frowned upon the killing of Reverend Father Ferdinand Ngugban of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Aye-Twar village in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area by gunmen.
Recall that Lodgexpress yesterday reported that Fr. Ngugban alongside three parishioners were murdered in the early hours of Tuesday, March 30. read here
Governor Ortom described the attack as mindless and wondered why a harmless priest would become the target for armed men.
He then reassured the people of Katsina-Ala and Sankera in general that the State Government will not rest until those responsible for murders in that part of the state are brought to book.
Ortom reaffirmed the resolve of his administration not to surrender the state to criminals and called on Benue people to continue to support security operatives with timely and useful information.
He also sympathized with the family of the deceased and prayed that God grants the soul of Reverend Father Ngugban eternal rest.
