The police command in Osun state has apprehended a 19-year-old student of Oduduwa College, Ile-Ife for allegedly beating the school principal, Mr Ademola Sanusi to coma on Friday February 5.
Though reason why the student descended heavily on the principal with his “gang members” is unknown, it was nevertheless learnt that staffs in the school fled the scene to avoid being beaten alongside the principal.
The student, said to spearhead the evil act is presently being detained at the state police command, and is helping the police to fish out his other colleagues who took to their heels before the arrival of the police.
Mrs Yemisi Opalola, spokesperson of the police command in the state, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect disclosed to Nigerian Tribune that investigations on the matter is ongoing with the assurance that the perpetrators of the callous and inhuman act would not go scot-free.
Mr Folorunso Oladoyin, Osun State Commissioner for Education, also frowned upon the act which he described as indecent and uncultured. Oladoyin vowed that that the 19-year-old culprit alongside his gangsters will not go unpunished.
