Ibrahim Mohammed, Nigeria’s Chief Justice, has postponed the swearing-in of the newly appointed 18 justices of the appeal court.

The ceremony was billed to hold on April 29, but has now been shifted indefinitely.

Though no reason was given for the postponement, it has however been linked to the ongoing strike by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN).

The Judges are also expected to “clear their desks” and ensure there are no outstanding issues before assuming their new responsibilities.
