The Lekki Concession Company has begged some residents of the state against pressing forward with their plan to protest the reopening of the tollgates.
With the hashtag #OccupyLekkiTollgate, some Lagosians vowed to stage fresh protests at the tollgate on Saturday, February 13 following the decision of the Lagos Judicial Panel to return the tollgates to the LCC.
In an official statement released this afternoon, February 11, Yomi Omomuwasan, the managing director of LCC, stated that the decision to reopen the tollgates is to allow the company to be in operation so it can pay its loans as well as fulfil other financial obligations.
Omomuwasan went on to add that no going back to operation within the shortest possible time would result in loss of jobs of persons employed by the company.
