Reports that the Lagos State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) is considering a political alliance with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been debunked.
It was alleged that the two parties are considering an alliance for the forthcoming governorship and State Assembly election in the state.
Recall that Ayo Adebanjo, the leader of the Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere, had said the LP would consider available options to defeat the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) in the March 11 governorship elections in the state.
The elder statesman had said, “We shall consider all the options before us.”
Speaking with The Punch on Tuesday, Lagos LP spokesman, Olubunmi Odesanya, said the party is not considering joining forces with the PDP for the elections.
He said: “Labour Party is not considering any alliance with PDP.”
