Three men suspected to be kidnappers have been killed in a Joint Operation carried out by Bauchi police command in forests at Alkaleri Local Government Area.
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Ahmed Wakili, disclosed that the operatives in conjunction with sister security agencies, stormed the kidnappers’ den at Dajin Madam and Yankari Reserve forests on the eve of the new year. Two Ak47 rifles were recovered during the operation.
Wakili also added that two suspects were apprehended on December 27 2022 by operatives attached to the Command Anti-Kidnapping unit Base 4, following credible Intel available.
The identities of the arrested suspects have been given as Adamu Mohammed, 33, and Datti Alhaji Bulama (AKA Dattuwa), 35, all of Maimadi ward via Pali district.
Adamu Muhammed who is the principal suspect, confessed to participating in abduction activities in Kaltanga village where they allegedly abducted four people and held them captive at Yankari Forest for about five days until the sum of N20,000,000 was paid as ransom.
The suspect said he received the sum of N30,000 as his share of the proceeds of the crime.
The suspects will be charged to court after the investigation has been concluded.
