Governors of the 36 states in the Nigeria are expected to take the Coronavirus vaccine publicly on March 10.
The agreement was arrived at an emergency meeting which was graced by Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation (SGF); Osagie Ehanire, health minister; and Chikwe Ihekweazu, director-general of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), and convened to discuss the distribution of the vaccine.
Kayode Fayemi, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum and Governor of Ekiti state, disclosed the decision in a statement released on Thursday March 4.
Fayemi went on to give an assurance of the vaccine being safe. He called on Nigerians to register on the National Primary Health Care Development Agency website – nphcsaict.com.ng/publicreg for the vaccine.
It is also expected that frontline health workers will get their vaccination alongside the president and vice-president on Saturday March 6.
