Arsenal loanee and Uruguay star, Lucas Torreira’s mother, Viviana Di Pascua, has reportedly died after a long battle with Covid-19.
Viviana was recently admitted to intensive care after contracting the novel virus in Uruguay.
Torreira was specially granted permission by Atletico Madrid, where he is currently plays on loan, to jet home to Uruguay to see his mother after learning she had tested positive.
But her situation became worse and she gave up a ghost on Tuesday March 30.
Torreira on his own tested positive for Covid in November 2020 after international duty with Uruguay after an outbreak of the virus within the Uruguay camp at the time.
